Local enhanced heat treatment process improves the fatigue life of large flanges.

Time:2026-01-17 Views:0
For flanges used in wind power and marine engineering that bear cyclic loads, the fatigue strength of their neck and weld areas is crucial. The latest process research employs a localized heat treatment method combining induction heating and laser surface quenching to specifically enhance the hardness and residual compressive stress in key areas without altering the overall material of the flange. Comparative experimental data shows that the fatigue cycle times of flanges treated with localized enhancement can be increased by more than 1.5 times compared to conventional products. This process provides a new path for achieving "differentiated performance enhancement" and cost control of flanges.
